The European Brass Band Association are delighted to announce the programme of
events for the 2024 European Brass Band Championships, in association with World of
Brass, in Palanga, Lithuania.

The festival greets its first visitors as the thirty-five members of the European Youth Brass
Band 2024 from 14 different countries converge on the city on 27 April for what will be an
inspiring week of music making under the baton of Philip Harper.

The core festival kicks off on Thursday 2 May at the impressive Palanga Concert Hall for
the 9th European Composers Competition when three composers’ new works will receive
their premieres performed by the Cory Band supported by an exciting concert set from
the European Youth Brass Band.

The opening ceremony follows on Friday 3 May at the picturesque Amber Museum set in
its 19th-century Tiškevičiai Palace, surrounded by the Palanga Botanical Gardens.
The competitive action starts just a few hours later back at the Palanga Concert Hall with
the EBBC Championship Set Piece “A Road Less Travelled” (Philip Sparke), a true test of
the 12 competing bands.

Saturday 4 May will see a thrilling day commence with the Challenge Section immediately
followed by the Championship Section own-choice blockbusters.
This all topped off with a world class gala concert by the Cory Band again supported by the
European Youth Brass Band.

Youth music takes centre stage on Sunday 5 May as eight of Europe’s elite youth brass
bands are on their marks to battle to be European winners in two separate sections.

We look forward to welcoming all those of you travelling to Palanga but for EBBC fans not
able to be with us all is not lost as all of the action can be watched on World of Brass via
