Conductors are invited to apply for a place in the 8th  European Conductors Competition
 to be held in Stavanger, Norway in 2025 as part of the 46th European Brass Band Championships.
The Competition will take place in Kuppelhallen, Stavanger Concert Hall, from 4 – 8 May 2025 and will consist of two preliminary rounds and a final.

Ensembles

For the first round, the competitors will meet the 1st section band Sola Brass Band.
The professional sinfonietta Insimul will be the ensemble for the second round, and for the final the finalists will conduct the top section band Stavanger Brass Band.

Repertoire for the final is Fraternity (Thierry Deleruyelle), Catharsis (Kjetil Djønne) and Lowry Sketchbook (Philip Wilby).

3rd place                         EUR 1000
Band prize                     EUR 500
Audience prize             EUR 500

In addition, there will be special awards for the finalists.
The competitors who reach the final will receive a diploma and they will be invited to a personal coaching lesson with one of the brass band movement’s most prominent conductors, Philip Harper.

Rules and invitation

Applicants must have been born on or after 1 January 1990 and are native to, or resident in EBBA member countries. Closing date for entries is 15 January 2025.
