A Night of Austrian brilliance at the Brucknerhaus
Brass bands, virtuoso soloists, and a world premiere headline an unforgettable celebration of Austrian music.
On Saturday 25 April at 20:15 in the Brucknerhaus, the local organiser Amt der Oö. Landesregierung, Direktion Kultur und Gesellschaft, Abteilung Kultur presents an electrifying gala concert showcasing the very best of brass band artistry and traditional Austrian culture. Audiences can expect a rich tapestry of iconic melodies, solo performances, traditional instruments, and exciting new brass band compositions.
Bands and soloists
The audience will be introduced to Diatonic Expeditions, a trio playing a great variety of repertoire from traditional Austrian music to modern world music. They will perform alone, and together with the Austrian championship section band Brass Band Oberösterreich (BBOÖ) under the baton of Günther Reisegger.
BBOÖ will also play together with the 2026 European Youth Brass Band conducted by Karl Geroldinger. Both bands will accompany these great soloists:
- Felix Geroldinger, the winner of the European Soloist Competition in 2018
- Christoph Kaindlstorfer, principal cornet in the BBOÖ
- Tobias Tacacs, organist in the Brucknerhaus
World premier
The gala concert will finish with a world premiere composed by Markus Ridderbusch. The piece is called “Legacy of a new era” and features electronics, organ, BBOÖ, EYBB and both the youth and junior band of the BBOÖ.
