The European Brass Band Association is pleased to announce the line-up of bands for the
47th European Brass Band Championships in association with World of Brass.
A total of 30 bands will take part in this year’s championships, which for the second time is taking place in Linz, Austria.
Championship section
In the Championship section we have a full line up with 15 participating bands.
Defending champions Brassband Willebroek will be joined by Festival Brass Band from Belgium. Flowers Band will for the first time represent England, Whitburn Band represents Scotland, and from Wales the Tredegar Town Band will take the stage in the Brucknerhaus. The Scandinavian countries will be represented with Göta Brass Band from Sweden, Concord Brass Band from Denmark, and Manger Musikklag from Norway.
Brass LT from Lithuania will play in the championship section for their second time, and 3BA Concert Band is back in the championship representing Germany.
Brass Band Oberösterreich will represent the host country.
Given a line-up that also includes excellent competitors like the Italian Brass Band, Hauts-de-France Brass Band and Brass Band De Wâldsang it promises to be an exciting, high quality championship section.
Challenge section
This year we find three bands in the Challenge section. Brass Band Wipptal from the Italian province of South Tyrol, and two newcomers to the contest; Brass Band Musicalis Algrange from France and for the very first time a band from Poland, Pacholski Polish Brass Band Malopolska Voivodeship.
European Youth Brass Band Contest
